Laser Precision Height of Cut Gauge (Inches)
The Grass Height Prism Gauge with Laser introduces a revolutionary way to measure the height of cut on fine turfgrass. Combining a solid glass prism with a laser, it provides precise measurements of the actual height of cut and the quality of the cut on turfgrass areas.
To use, simply place the prism on a golf green, tee, fairway, or athletic field, then look through the device while sliding the laser until it highlights the tips of the cut turfgrass blades. The illuminated tips are then aligned with the inch or millimeter scale for an exact measurement of height, surface smoothness, and cut quality.
The laser also reveals issues like step cuts, stragglers, cutting unit hop, marcelling, or washboarding by lighting up uncut grass blades when viewed along the mowing direction. Additionally, it can evaluate artificial infill turf by measuring fiber height above the infill material and assessing uniformity.
The gauge features graduated measurement lines (1/10th inch or 1 mm increments, depending on the model) visible through the prism, allowing for accurate readings of grass height up to 1.60 inches (40 mm). The quality of the cut can also be inspected using the viewing plane of the prism.
Ideal for golf greens, baseball infields, cricket pitches, grass tennis courts, or any finely maintained turf where cutting height and surface smoothness are critical, this gauge is both versatile and precise. Its compact frame measures 6 3/8 x 5 x 2 1/2 inches (16 x 13 x 6.5 cm).
A specialized FIFA Model is also available, designed to meet FIFA testing guidelines with 1 mm increments along a 150 mm length and up to 40 mm in height. It also includes .010-inch imperial references.
Each Grass Height Prism Gauge includes a durable solid glass prism mounted in a secure frame, with measurements in both inches (.020-inch increments up to 1.60 inches) and millimeters (1 mm increments up to 40 mm).
