Gilson Elutriation Sieves offer a labor-saving, repeatable alternative to conventional wet-wash sieves for manual wet-washing of soil, aggregate, ore or other samples. They use gentle air and water agitation for fines removal from specimens through a single mesh size of stainless steel wire cloth.
A cone-shaped well is machined into the solid base and an injection tube directs air and water into the bottom of the well. Sieves have a sturdy, thick-walled acrylic cylinder with four vertical openings, covered by ASTM E 11 Testing Grade stainless steel wire cloth. The total sieving area is about 12% greater than a standard 8in diameter sieve. Port opening of the sieve body is 7x2in (178x51mm).
Compressed air and running water supplies are required. Other mesh sizes of stainless steel wire cloth and nylon or polyester cloth can be quoted on request.
