The Gilson SP-302 Precision Splitter is engineered to accurately and rapidly divide granular materials and fine powders, ensuring the creation of truly representative samples for meticulous laboratory analysis. As a single-stage, riffle-type splitter, it leverages a gate-controlled hopper and precision-engineered, fixed-width chutes to deliver superior accuracy and repeatable results, minimizing the potential for sample bias.

When a sample is loaded into the hopper, it can be spread evenly across the top before the easy-flip gate is released. Upon release, the material flows down and is precisely divided in half by the sixteen 0.25in (6.4mm) chutes, set at a steep 45° angle to ensure consistent flow and prevent material from getting trapped. The divided portions are collected cleanly in two stainless steel receptacles positioned directly beneath the chutes.

Constructed entirely from heavy-gauge, non-magnetic Type 304 stainless steel, the SP-302 is built for durability, corrosion resistance, and a long service life. This high-quality construction also plays a crucial role in preventing sample contamination, making it ideal for applications where sample purity is paramount. The design incorporates enclosed side panels to effectively control airborne dust, minimizing the loss of fine particles and protecting the operator. For maintenance and to prevent cross-contamination between samples, the unit disassembles quickly and easily. All components are fully autoclavable for sterilization.
