The Gilson 12in Wet Wash Sieve is a great all around tool for wet testing of many materials. With the extra deep frame you can wash fines through the sieve without losing any of the sample.

In preparing soil specimens for wet sieving a deflocculating agent is often used to disperse the soil in water so you can get an accurate measurement of fine material by preventing clumping.

This model has a brass frame and a permanently installed stainless steel mesh cloth with No. 200 (75µm) openings. The overall frame depth is 8in (203mm) so there is plenty of room for wash water during testing.

The Gilson Wet Wash Sieve meets ASTM E11 standards so it’s a great choice for fines content determinations or sample preparation for particle size testing. It nests with standard sieves so it’s easy to store and organize.
