Gas Vapor Probe Retract-A-Tip
The Gas Vapor Probe (GVP) Retract-A-Tips are designed for collecting soil vapor and shallow groundwater samples below the ground surface. These tools are inserted into the soil and opened to allow sample extraction. Sampling can be performed using a slide hammer or rotary hammer, along with GVP extensions and an extension drive adapter.
Retract-A-Tips connect to the surface via Fluoropolymer, Nylon, or Polyethylene tubing. Once positioned at the desired sampling depth, the drive extension string is retracted to open the sampler. This exposes the sampling ports to the target area while protecting them from soil interference using a mesh screen.
Each Retract-A-Tip package includes the following components: Barbed Insert, Outer Sleeve, Inner Nut, Bottom Nut, Vapor Inlet Shaft, and a #50 Mesh Screen. All parts are made from 300 series stainless steel (SST), while the tip itself is constructed of durable 400 series SST.
