Fritsch Vibrating Cup Mill
The Fritsch PULVERISETTE 9 Vibrating Cup Mill is a high-performance laboratory instrument designed for the rapid and efficient grinding of various materials. It is ideal for sample preparation in a wide range of industries, including mining, metallurgy, ceramics, agriculture, construction, and forensic analysis. This mill ensures fast, loss-free, and reproducible results for both dry and wet grinding applications.
At its core, the PULVERISETTE 9 utilizes a powerful grinding mechanism. The grinding set, consisting of a heavy puck and a ring inside a sealed cup, is subjected to intense circular oscillations. This motion generates extreme pressure, high-impact forces, and friction, which pulverize the sample material in a very short amount of time. It can handle hard, brittle, and fibrous materials with a maximum feed size of 12mm, reducing them to a final analytical fineness between 10µm and 20µm.
Operational Excellence and Control
The mill is engineered for precision and ease of use. It features an adjustable rotational speed ranging from 600 to 1,500 rpm, allowing users to tailor the grinding energy to the specific characteristics of their sample. The grinding process is controlled via a user-friendly LCD menu screen, which supports multiple languages. From this interface, operators can precisely set the grinding duration and define pause intervals, which is crucial for processing temperature-sensitive samples.
Safety and Ergonomics
Safety is a paramount design consideration. The grinding chamber is fully enclosed within a sound-insulated hood that significantly reduces operational noise. A built-in safety switch prevents the mill from starting unless the hood is securely closed, protecting the operator at all times. The grinding sets themselves are designed to be lightweight and feature heat-insulated handles, making them safe and comfortable to handle even after intensive use.
Versatility and Applications
The PULVERISETTE 9's versatility makes it an indispensable tool for quality control and research.
- Agriculture: Grinding grain, soil, and plant matter for analysis.
- Ceramics and Glass: Preparing raw materials and finished products for quality assessment.
- Construction Materials: Grinding cement, clinker, slag, and concrete.
- Geology and Mineralogy: Preparing rocks, ores, and minerals for X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis.
- Forensic Science: Processing various types of evidence.
