The Fritsch PULVERISETTE 5 Premium Planetary Mill is a versatile, high-performance milling machine designed for rapid and efficient size reduction of various materials. This all-purpose mill is equipped with a powerful 2.2kW drive motor, enabling rotational speeds from 100 to 800rpm. This generates a high centrifugal acceleration of up to 64 Gs (64 times the force of gravity), ensuring intense and effective grinding energy. With a maximum feed size of 10mm and a typical milling time of just three minutes, the PULVERISETTE 5 is perfect for processing large quantities of hard, medium-hard, soft, brittle, fibrous, and moist samples. It can handle sample quantities from 15 to 450mL, achieving a final fineness of less than 0.1µm, depending on the material.

Streamlined and Safe Operation

The PULVERISETTE 5 model FT-50 features two grinding stations for increased throughput. Operation is simple and safe: after inserting a grinding bowl, a single button press moves the station to allow for the insertion of the next bowl. An integrated LED light confirms that the bowl has been properly inserted and clamped, ensuring a secure fit every time. This automatic clamping process is standardized, guaranteeing repeatable testing conditions and safe operation.

Once the bowls are secured, the grinding chamber closes automatically via the touchscreen. The innovative ServoLOCK feature enhances safety by gradually opening the chamber after the milling process is complete. This controlled release allows any internal pressure to dissipate safely and prevents the bowl from being removed until the temperature and pressure have returned to safe levels. The unit also features an automatic shut-off function that activates if an imbalance is detected, protecting both the user and the equipment.

Advanced Control and Programmability

A high-resolution touchscreen with an intuitive menu makes operation effortless. The system can store up to ten user-defined sample programs (SOPs), allowing for consistent and repeatable test routines that control rotational speed, pause times, and reverse modes. Critical testing parameters such as speed, pause duration, cycle count, and timer settings can be easily exported via a USB port for documentation and quality control.

Required Components and Accessories

Please note that Grinding Bowls and Grinding Balls are essential for operation and must be purchased separately. To ensure balanced operation and optimal performance, multi-station mills should be operated with consistent loads. The bowls, balls, and sample volume should be the same at each grinding station. If a counterweight is needed, it's recommended to use a jar of equal total mass filled with fine sand.
