J-Ring Test for Self-Consolidating Concrete

The J-ring test can be used to check the passing ability of self-consolidating concrete. It can be used in lab for testing different concrete mixtures for passing ability and workability or in field as a quality control test. It is common to also do slump flow test with J-ring test. This test is similar to J-ring except J-ring is not used. The difference between the two test results will give an idea of the passing ability of the concrete. J-ring test also helps to identify any obstruction that may affect the flow.

J-Ring Test Set is a must have tool to check the passing ability of Self-Consolidating Concrete (SCC) mixtures. This test checks the ability of SCC to flow under its own weight and fill all the formwork, so no voids and honeycombing. Used in both lab and field, J-Ring Test is an essential quality control test for SCC mixtures. Often done with Slump Flow Test, it will give a complete understanding of the concrete workability and passing ability of self, so the concrete can pass through obstructions and have uniform distribution.
