Dayton Weather Worker Water Repellant 40 Percent J29, 55 Gallon

Chemicals | Liquids | Durable Water Repellent

Casica

Weather Worker™ 40% J29 is a 40% silane that penetrates into concrete or masonry and provides long term weatherproofing. Weather Worker™ 40% J29 is a one component product that is ready to use and usually only needs to be applied once.

The silane molecule can penetrate deeper into the substrate than a conventional sealer and even deeper than a siloxane sealer. Once the silane molecule penetrates the surface it chemically reacts with and bonds to the concrete or masonry. As a result of the strong chemical bond, silane repellency will last many times longer than a coating.

Weather Worker 40% J29 will not darken the surface or leave a visible surface film. It’s ideal for aesthetic/architectural surfaces.

Commercial and Residential Applications

V.O.C. Content: < 600 g/L

Protect your concrete and masonry like never before with the Dayton Weather Worker Water Repellant 40 Percent J29. This new weatherproofing technology will keep your surfaces looking great against the elements. It will repel water and enhance weatherproofing.

What is Water Repellency?

Definition and Importance

Water repellency is the ability of a material or surface to resist water penetration. This is important in many applications from outdoor gear and clothing to electronics and construction materials. By preventing water from getting in, repellency helps to maintain the performance and life of these products. For example in outdoor gear, repellency is key to keeping the user dry and comfortable in wet conditions. Whether it’s a DWR coating on a Gore-Tex jacket or a water resistant fabric on ski pants, this feature will keep the gear working and effective no matter the weather.

How Water Repellency Works

Water repellency works by creating a hydrophobic (water repelling) surface that causes water to bead up and roll off. This is done through specialized coatings or treatments that change the surface tension of the material. When water hits a water repellent surface it forms droplets that can’t penetrate the material. Instead the droplets are repelled, maintaining the material’s integrity and preventing water from getting in. This is what allows rain gear and other waterproof products to keep you dry in heavy rain. By creating a water resistant fabric these treatments will keep the water protection effective and long lasting.

Features

40% Silane Technology

At the heart of Weather Worker™ 40% J29 is the 40% silane formula. Unlike conventional sealers this proprietary compound penetrates deep into the substrate, chemically bonds to the concrete or masonry for long term protection. And repels water for long term protection.

Better Penetration and Bonding

Smaller silane molecules means it penetrates deeper than standard sealers and even deeper than a siloxane sealer. Once bonded it will provide extended weatherproofing that will last.

Benefits of Water Resistant Layer

  • One Coat: Designed for ease of use, Weather Worker™ 40% J29 usually only needs one coat, saving you time and effort.

  • Invisible Surface Film: This product won’t change the look of your surfaces, keeps the original look and aesthetic of the surface and prevents water droplets from forming on the surface, keeping the aesthetic.

  • Aesthetic Surfaces: For projects where appearance matters, it provides protection without sacrificing appearance.

Waterproof Breathable Garments

Whether you’re maintaining a historic building façade, a concrete driveway or a beautifully crafted masonry wall the Dayton Weather Worker 40% J29 is a versatile and effective solution. Its deep penetration and long term protection makes it suitable for residential to commercial applications.

How to Choose a Water Repellent

Considerations

When choosing a water repellent you should consider:

  • Waterproof Material: Different waterproof materials require different types of water repellents. For example waterproof breathable garments like Gore-Tex jackets need a durable water repellent (DWR coating), soft shells and ski pants may need a water repellent that balances water resistance and flexibility.

  • Level of Water Pressure: The level of water pressure required will depend on the use of the product. Heavy rain gear needs a more robust water repellent than light rain or snow gear. Getting the right level of protection is key to the functionality of the gear.

  • Durability: Durability of the water repellent is key as it affects the life of the product. Look for products with a DWR coating that can withstand repeated washing and wear so the water repellency remains effective over time.

  • Breathability: In some applications breathability is crucial to prevent moisture buildup inside the garment. Look for water repellents that creates a water resistant layer while maintaining breathability so you stay comfortable and dry.

  • Compatibility: Make sure the water repellent is compatible with the material and any other treatments or coatings on the product. This ensures the water repellent works without compromising the material’s other properties.

By considering these you can choose the right water repellent for you and your products. Whether you’re protecting technical gear, outer layers or everyday items you need to get the right water repellent to get water resistance and durability.
