D101A - Straight Dowel Bar Splicer
Accessories
Dayton
The Dayton Superior Dowel Bar Splicer is a one-piece unit, integrally forged from ASTM A615 grade 60 deformed rebar material. The splicers are available in #4 through #11 rebar sizes to be used in conjunction with the corresponding size dowel-in to accomplish a mechanical splice designed to achieve 160% of specified yield (full mechanical ultimate). The splicer can be furnished straight (D101A) cut to length, 90° and 180° hooked (D102A and D103A) and double-ended (D104A) in plain or epoxy coated finish. The splicer can also be special-ordered with a reduced diameter washer flange or with the washer flange clipped (in more than one direction, if required) to provide adequate concrete cover, or to avoid interference. The D104A Double-Ended Dowel Bar Splicer is used to establish a direct load path through a concrete section, thus avoiding multiple hooked rebar and eliminating rebar congestion. The double-ended unit can be configured in a “U” shape for special applications.
With dimensions of 9 x 54 inches, the D101A is tailored to seamlessly combine with dowel bars of varying sizes, from #4 to #11, ensuring versatility across a range of construction projects. Its one-piece, integrally forged design minimizes points of weakness, allowing for a durable connection that fosters structural integrity. Whether you need straight splicers or require specialized configurations like 90° and 180° hooks or double-ended designs, Dayton Superior provides options to accommodate diverse engineering needs.
The option for a plain or epoxy-coated finish enhances the longevity of the splicer, protecting it from corrosion and weather-related wear, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications. Special ordering options are also available, including reduced diameter washer flanges or clipped flanges, catering to specific site requirements for concrete cover or to mitigate interference issues.
The D104A Double-Ended Dowel Bar Splicer is particularly noteworthy, establishing a direct load path through concrete sections and reducing rebar congestion, a common challenge on construction sites. Additionally, its unique “U” shape configuration allows for specialized applications, enhancing flexibility for engineers and contractors.
In summary, the Dayton D101A Straight Dowel Bar Splicer combines innovative design with exceptional durability, making it a top choice for professionals seeking to enhance the strength and efficiency of their concrete structures.
