While electronic moisture meters provide saturation levels, only this test accurately quantifies the rate of moisture emission.

Each kit contains a pre-weighed dish of moisture-absorbing calcium chloride and a plastic dome with a self-adhering butyl rubber gasket. After a 60 to 72-hour test cycle, the calcium chloride is re-weighed. The weight gain, combined with exposure time, calculates the moisture emission rate in pounds per 1,000 sq ft over 24 hours. For accurate assessment, we recommend a test frequency of three kits for the first 500 sq ft, plus one additional kit for every subsequent 500 sq ft of total area.
