Determine the precise moisture emission rate from concrete floor slabs with our Concrete Moisture Emission Test Kit. This kit employs the industry-recognized calcium chloride test method, essential for preventing costly damage to flooring and coating systems caused by moisture migration. While electronic moisture meters provide saturation levels, only this test accurately quantifies the rate of moisture emission.
Each kit contains a pre-weighed dish of moisture-absorbing calcium chloride and a plastic dome with a self-adhering butyl rubber gasket. After a 60 to 72-hour test cycle, the calcium chloride is re-weighed. The weight gain, combined with exposure time, calculates the moisture emission rate in pounds per 1,000 sq ft over 24 hours. For accurate assessment, we recommend a test frequency of three kits for the first 500 sq ft, plus one additional kit for every subsequent 500 sq ft of total area.
