3in Sand Auger, Stainless Steel for Rocky Soil
Sand Augers have partially closed bodies with closed bits that help retain samples when sampling sand and dry, loose, granular soils. These are 18in (457mm) long overall and come in carbon steel or stainless steel with 3 or 4in (76 or 102mm) diameters. Carbon Steel works for most applications, Stainless Steel works best for environmental sampling with minimal contamination. Also these augers are AMS sampler compatible and make sure to have a common connection type for proper sampling.
Augers have a hexagonal connection with hole for locking pin. Quick-Connect Pins are sold separately to connect augers to extensions with quick-connect fittings. Stainless steel models have stainless steel cylinders for handling various soils in tough conditions.
