2in Multi-Stage Sludge and Sediment Sampler Kit, Hex Quick Pin

The 2" Multi-Stage Sludge & Sediment Sampler Kit, featuring a durable Hex Quick Pin connection, provides all the tools needed to collect undisturbed sludge and sediment samples up to 4 feet in length. The kit includes a 12" soil core sampler base and three (3) sampler extension sections, allowing you to configure the sampler to lengths of 12", 24", 36", or 48". Additionally, three (3) 4' stainless steel extensions enable deployment through up to 12' of water before reaching the sediment. The kit also includes a disposable plastic core catcher and a stainless steel multi-stage flap valve cap designed to enhance recovery of saturated materials.

When deploying the sampler, the check valve flap on the top cap opens to release excess air and water through four machined holes, allowing for smooth operation. Once the sampler reaches the sediment, saturated material flows through the plastic core catcher and into the plastic liner within the sampler body as it is driven downward. The multi-stage flap valve cap prevents pressure buildup, ensuring the sample enters the liner effectively.

During retrieval, the plastic core catcher closes under the weight of the sediment, preventing material from escaping through the bottom. Simultaneously, the check valve flap seals the top cap holes, creating suction within the sampler. This suction helps retain the collected sample securely in the sampler body.
