Gilson 250,000lbf Basic Concrete Compression Machine
Basic Concrete Compression Machines
The Basic Concrete Compression Machines are manually operated systems designed for comprehensive strength testing of concrete cylinders, beams, cubes, cores, and grout prisms. Offering versatility and cost-efficiency, these machines are ideal for a wide range of concrete testing applications.
Durable Design and Efficient Operation
Constructed with a rugged welded steel frame and solid steel crossheads, these machines exceed ACI 363 requirements for rigidity. The integrated electric motor and hydraulic pump system operate at variable speeds, ensuring precise pressure control during tests. This energy-efficient design reduces heat buildup and extends the lifespan of hydraulic components.
Advanced HMI Controller
A Windows-based human-machine interface (HMI) controller simplifies operation by allowing users to select test protocols, view real-time data, and print or transfer results. The controller displays force, stress, and load rate during tests, with options for real-time graphing of load vs. time or stress vs. strain. It also supports machine setup, calibration, and diagnostics.
Cloud Compatibility
These machines are compatible with the Gilson Guardian Cloud Sharing Application (sold separately), which enables cloud storage and easy management of testing data. Users can seamlessly share project information and maintain detailed records for every test.
Manual Load Control
Operators control the load application during testing. Initial loading is achieved using the full advance position of the lever valve to seat the sample and apply a preload below half the expected compressive strength. Fine control and precise loading are managed in the metered valve position. The machine records the maximum compressive strength when the load drops below a preset percentage of the peak.
Safety Features
Key safety features include a hydraulic safety relief valve to prevent overloading, a travel limit switch to stop piston overextension, and securely latching Lexan fragment guard doors for clear sample visibility during testing.
Versatility and Accessories
The machine comes ready for testing 6x12in (152.4x304.8mm) concrete cylinders with user-supplied neoprene capping pads and steel retainers. Additional accessories can be added to accommodate a variety of sample types, including beams, cubes, cores, and grout prisms. Units operate on 110V, 60Hz power.
