Whitehouse Sieve Standards offer an efficient and reliable method for calibrating No. 6 (3.35mm) and finer sieves with full traceability to NIST. With these standards, calibrations can be completed within minutes, eliminating the need to ship sieves or take them out of service. Periodic checks provide a clear indication of when sieves need replacement. Each set includes five single-use vials of precision glass beads designed for a specific sieve size. A single vial is sufficient for 8in or 200mm sieves, while larger sieves (up to 18in or 450mm) require two to five vials. After processing, the average aperture is easily determined using the provided calibration graph.

Whitehouse has been recognized by the Community Bureau of Reference (BCR) to produce standards for the European Community. These standards are also traceable to NIST, NPL, and BCR. The highly spherical beads are crafted from soda-lime glass with a specific gravity of 2.45, and their size is verified using electroformed sieves and confirmed via microscopy and image analysis.
