Whitehouse Sieve Standards No.45 (355 micrometer)
Whitehouse Sieve Standards provide a fast and reliable method for calibrating No. 6 (3.35mm) and finer sieves with full traceability to NIST. Calibrations are quick, taking just minutes, and there's no need to send your sieves off-site or remove them from use. Regular checks with these standards can help determine when it's time to replace your sieves. Each set includes five single-use vials of precision glass beads, specifically designed for a single sieve size. For 8in or 200mm sieves, one vial is sufficient, while larger sieves up to 18in or 450mm may require two to five vials. After use, the average aperture can be easily determined using the included calibration graph.
Whitehouse is a trusted producer of standards for the European Community, selected by the Community Bureau of Reference (BCR). These standards are traceable to NIST, NPL, and BCR. The glass beads are highly spherical, made from 2.45 specific gravity soda-lime glass, and certified for size using electroformed sieves, with additional verification through microscopy and image analysis.
Whitehouse Sieve Standards for No. 45 (355µm) sieves are supplied with five vials, each containing a nominal weight of 2.5g.
