Sand Gauge
The Sand Gauge features nine granule patches securely attached to a durable, water-resistant 3.5 x 2.5 in (89 x 64 mm) plastic card. It’s designed to help identify particle size and roundness, ranging from 2mm (very coarse sand) to 1/16mm (silt). A checklist is included to aid in field notes and bed thickness classification.
On the reverse side, you’ll find helpful tables for geologic age and carbonate classification. The gauge also includes a 0–50mm scale along one edge and comes with an attached lanyard for convenience.
