Thermolyne FB1315M Benchtop Muffle Furnace, Max. Temp. 2012F, 1.3L 120V
The Thermolyne Muffle Furnace is used for ashing, ignition tests, gravimetric analyses, and volatile matter determinations. For construction materials, furnaces are used for tests of soils, aggregates, and cement. This unit has rugged components and top quality materials to assure longest service life. The max. temp range for this furnace is 2012F (1100C) and has a chamber capacity is 76in3.
The standard digital control displays chamber temperature until the push to set temperature button is pressed. The display then indicates set-point temperature until released. The display shows actual temperature or set-point.
Muffle Furnace is a small benchtop style furnace with a 0.04ft³ (1.3L) capacity and a temperature range of 212–2,012°F (100–1,100°C).
This compact unit is equipped with a dual-display indicating temperature and setpoint, energy-saving ceramic fiber insulation for faster heating, heating elements on the top and sides to ensure uniform temperatures, and a drop-down door that also functions as a shelf when loading or unloading. The furnace also features a door safety switch that stops power to the heating elements when opened, a 0.38in (9.5mm) rear chamber port for monitoring temperatures, and thermocouple break protection.
Both models are designed for use in ashing, ignition tests, gravimetric analyses, and volatile matter determinations, as well as for testing test soils, aggregates, and cement. Each unit comes with a single setpoint controller, thermocouple, power cord, and hearth plate for protecting the bottom of the furnace.
Features:
- Embedded heating elements for temperature uniformity
- Made of rugged, durable components for long service life
- Safety features for user protection
Also has multiple elements in sides, tops, and/or bottoms. Since doors and backs have no elements, only the center two-thirds of the chamber is considered uniform in temperature, and chamber size should be selected accordingly. This unit has a ceramic fiber insulation for faster heat-up and reduction of energy consumption. It is also equipped with safety interlock door switches. Power to the elements is automatically cut off when the door is opened. Supplied with a cord and plug.
Accessories:
- Crucible Tongs to safely remove beakers and other labware from the furnace
- Porcelain Crucibles used for loss-on-ignition testing of cement, fly ash, and soils and are available in 10, 30, or 45mL
- Heat Resistant Gloves provide additional operator protection from high temperatures when placing or removing items inside the furnace
