The Hanna Instruments HI98331 Soil Test Direct Soil Conductivity Tester is a must-have for anyone involved in environmental and agricultural testing. This compact, pocket-sized tester is specifically designed to directly measure soil conductivity (EC) and temperature, making it an excellent choice for taking direct conductivity measurements in soil. Unlike other testers, there is no need for soil slurries with this steel penetration electrode. The integrated temperature sensor enables automatic temperature compensation, ensuring accurate readings every time.
The HI98331 Soil Test has a wide range, making it suitable for use in a range of applications. Its EC range is from 0 to 4000 μS/cm, and its EC resolution is 1 μS/cm. The EC accuracy is ±50 μS/cm (0 to 2000 μS/cm), ±300 μS/cm (2000 to 4000 μS/cm), ±0.05 mS/cm (0.00 to 2.00 mS/cm), and ±0.30 mS/cm (2.00 to 4.00 mS/cm). Calibration is automatic, one-point (1.41 mS/cm), and the EC/TDS temperature compensation is automatic, with a coefficient (»ï) fixed at 2%/°C.
The Soil Test also has an excellent temperature range, from 0.0 to 50.0°C (32.0 to 122.0ºF), with a temperature resolution of 0.1°C (0.1°F) and a temperature accuracy of ±1°C (±1.5°F). The EC/TDS probe is 114 mm (4.5”) stainless steel penetration and is fixed. The automatic shut-off is programmable to 8 minutes, 60 minutes, or can be disabled. The battery type is a CR2032 Li-ion (included), offering approximately 100 hours of continuous use.
This tester is built to last and is designed to withstand tough environments. The environment range is from 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F), with an RH 95% max. The Soil Test is also lightweight, weighing only 74 g (2.4 oz.), and is small in size, making it easy to carry around. The dimensions are 50 x 196 x 21 mm (2.0 x 7.7 x 0.9“).
The Hanna Instruments HI98331 Soil Test is supplied with the HI73331 penetration conductivity probe, calibration screwdriver, batteries, and instructions. It comes with a 1-year warranty, giving you peace of mind knowing your tester is backed up by the manufacturer. Whether you're a farmer, gardener, or environmental scientist, the Soil Test is the perfect tool to ensure your soil is performing at its best.
