Gilson Servo Control Load Frames are designed for precision and versatility, offering load capacities of 10,000lbf (44.4kN) with a wide strain rate range of 0.00001–2in/min (0.0001–50.8mm/min). These frames excel in a variety of soil mechanics and asphalt testing applications, including CBR/LBR, triaxial shear, unconfined compression, soil-cement, and asphalt tests. Featuring closed-loop electronic feedback and a robust 2hp continuous servo motor, the strain rates are maintained to within ±1% accuracy under load.
The system includes an intuitive human-machine interface (HMI), allowing users to quickly set and monitor strain rates throughout testing. The servo motor continuously adjusts to ensure precision, regardless of load changes. For added convenience, shortcut buttons for common strain rates (0.5 and 2.0 in/min) streamline setup.
The frames are built for ease of use with coarse-threaded vertical rods allowing quick height adjustments to the horizontal crosshead. With a spacious daylight opening of 11.9x37.3in (302.2x947.4mm), these load frames easily accommodate CBR/LBR molds, triaxial cells, and other test components. The rugged design features an 8in (203.2mm) diameter platen and a durable powder-coated 16ga steel enclosure.
Gilson Load Frames are fully compatible with Digital Component Sets (sold separately) tailored for specific testing needs. These sets include all necessary equipment for data collection, such as an S-Type load cell, 2in (50.8mm) LVDT, Two-Channel Data Readout with GetData 5 software, and mounting fixtures, ensuring seamless setup and operation.
