Hydraulic Sample Extruder

The Hydraulic Sample Extruder is designed to efficiently eject undisturbed soil samples from full-size thin-walled samplers (Shelby Tubes) in a single stroke. It streamlines sample preparation for various soil tests, including triaxial, permeability, direct shear, consolidation, unconfined compression, and more. This compact, bench-top unit is configured for 3x30in (76x762mm) diameter x length samples but can also accommodate 2x30in (51x762mm) tubes with an optional 2in Sample Adapter. The smooth piston stroke ensures precise control for rapid and easy sample handling.

With a force capacity of up to 5,600lbf (24.9kN), the extruder can handle even the most challenging soil samples. Its hydraulic system delivers precise control to the horizontally mounted piston, minimizing sample disturbance during ejection. The HM-524 model includes a sample receiving trough for secure handling and logging of samples. The 1.7gpm (6.4lpm) hydraulic pump is powered by a 1hp electric motor, while the 2.5gal (9.4L) hydraulic oil reservoir ensures efficient operation.
