The AMS 58069 Piezometer Point Holder is a high-quality and versatile tool designed for groundwater sampling and water level measurements. This complete kit includes everything you need to take accurate measurements and collect samples up to 12ft. below the ground surface.
The kit features a 1 ¼" Stainless Steel piezometer drive point that can be connected to the 3ft. Stainless Steel Piezometer extensions using heavy-duty single-lead threaded couplers. These couplers ensure a consistent outside diameter (OD) throughout the drive string, making it easier to push and pull. Unlike other piezometer designs, the AMS Piezometer allows for the removal and replacement of the internal 50 mesh SST Screen & Spring for proper decontamination between samplings.
To collect samples, the kit includes the patented AMS SST Dedicated Tip with SST screen. This tip can be connected to fluoropolymer or poly tubing via a barbed adapter and lowered inside the piezometer. It is compatible with peristaltic pumps, bladder pumps, AMS stainless steel bailers, and inertia samplers. The inside diameter of the piezometer is 7/8", providing ample space for the use of an AMS 5/8" Water Level Meter prior to sampling.
The AMS 58069 Piezometer Point Holder is built to withstand tough soil conditions. It comes with a 1 ¼" regular soil auger, 6ft. of extensions, and a rubber-coated cross handle for pre-augering a borehole. The kit also includes an AMS 20lb. Slide Hammer Attachment and a threadless drive adapter for driving the sampler and extensions into the subsurface.
Maintenance and assembly are made easy with the provided cleaning brushes and wrenches. All the components of the kit fit securely inside two foam-lined, poly-reinforced AMS deluxe carrying cases with handles and wheels for added portability.
For groundwater sampling in contaminated lithology, it is recommended to use the included expendable tip holder along with a #50 mesh SST screen and expendable drive tip. In a stiff or dense lithology, it is advisable to use the expendable drive tip to avoid damaging the standard piezometer.
