The AMS 209.2 Piezometer Groundwater Sampling Kit is the perfect solution for manually-operated sampling in groundwater investigations. This complete kit includes all the necessary tools to take accurate water level measurements and collect samples up to a depth of 12ft.
Designed to withstand tough soil conditions, the kit features a 1 ¾” regular soil auger, 6ft of extensions, and a rubber-coated cross handle for easy pre-augering of a borehole. The Stainless Steel piezometer drive point measures 1 ¼” in outside diameter and 14” in length, and can be connected to any of the 3ft Stainless Steel Piezometer extensions using heavy-duty single-lead threaded couplers.
Unlike other piezometer designs, the AMS Piezometer allows for the removal and replacement of internal components, such as the 50 mesh SST Screen & Spring, for proper decontamination in between samplings. This feature sets the AMS Piezometer apart, providing the end-user with an extremely valuable tool.
The kit also includes the patented AMS SST Dedicated Tip, which serves as both a drop weight and sampling port. Connected to the piezometer with fluoropolymer or poly tubing, this tip allows for the collection of samples using a peristaltic pump, bladder pump, stainless steel bailer, or inertia sampler.
The piezometer has an inside diameter of 7/8”, providing ample space for an AMS 5/8” Water Level Meter to be used prior to sampling. To drive the sampler and extensions into the subsurface, the kit includes an AMS 20lb. Slide Hammer Attachment and threadless drive adapter. For removal, an AMS Big Foot removal jack and T-Jack Adapter are included.
Maintenance and assembly are made easy with the cleaning brushes and wrenches provided. Everything in the kit fits securely into two foam-lined, poly-reinforced deluxe carrying cases with handles and wheels, allowing for convenient portability.
For groundwater sampling through and below contaminated lithology, the kit includes an expendable tip holder, a #50 mesh SST screen, and an expendable drive tip. In stiff or dense lithology, it is recommended to use the expendable drive tip and screen instead of the standard piezometer to prevent damage.
