Pneumatic Consolidation Load Frames with CONBEL™ Design

Karol-Warner’s Pneumatic Consolidation Load Frames are engineered with the exclusive CONBEL™ design, delivering precise pneumatic loading to meet the demanding needs of soil testing laboratories. These frames provide instant load application and maintenance for accurate consolidation testing, including low-load functionality for small confining loads. Loads are applied pneumatically and controlled via precision pressure regulators, while the compact design saves valuable bench space. Each unit features digital load displays and high-accuracy pressure regulators and transducers with ±0.1% linearity.

The robust aluminum platforms, measuring 1in (25.4mm) thick, include adjustable centering pads and accommodate consolidation rings up to 7.25in (184mm) in diameter. Platform clearance dimensions are 8.25x7.75in (210x197mm) WxH. The frame includes stainless steel vertical rods to support the cross-head and dial gauge, all housed within a durable, enamel-coated steel cabinet. A loading ball is included with each frame. Fixed or floating-ring consolidometers and a dial indicator must be purchased separately. Operation requires a user-supplied air compressor. Optional Consolidation Data Acquisition Software, paired with an LVDT or Digital Dial Indicator, allows real-time data recording, result calculations, and report generation compliant with ASTM and AASHTO standards.

The frame boasts a load capacity of up to 16tsf and requires a minimum of 62psi (4.3bar) of compressed air.
