Premier Oil Pump vs. Standard Oil Pump

Oil Changes

The Premier Oil Pump requires significantly fewer oil changes than the Standard Pump. Thanks to its gas ballast feature, water doesn’t remain in the oil, keeping it clear and pristine even after 30+ batches. Typically, oil changes are only needed after 20+ batches. In contrast, the Standard Pump requires oil changes every 4-5 batches (when using the 3/8-inch vacuum hose). For the Premier Pump, only use Robinair Premium High Vacuum Pump Oil or JB Industries Black Gold Vacuum Pump Oil, available through Harvest Right, Amazon, and other retailers. Do not use Dairyland oil in the Premier Pump.

Vacuum Pressure

The Premier Pump outperforms the Standard Pump in vacuum pressure under both cold and hot conditions. In cold conditions, the Premier Pump achieves .05 Pascal compared to the Standard Pump’s .08 Pascal. The difference is much more pronounced in warm conditions, with the Premier Pump maintaining .05 Pascal, while the Standard Pump drops to 2.05 Pascal. The Premier Pump is unaffected by warm environments and consistently delivers deep vacuum performance.

Noise

The Premier Pump operates at 52 decibels, significantly quieter than the Standard Pump’s 64 decibels. To compare, 52 decibels is about as quiet as a refrigerator.

Oil Mist Filter

Both pumps are equipped with an oil mist filter, but the Premier Pump’s filter is more efficient, eliminating oil spray entirely and lasting longer. 

Power Usage

The Premier Pump is more energy efficient, consuming 187 watts compared to the Standard Pump’s 218 watts.

At ultimate vacuum pressure under hot conditions, the Premier Pump draws only 1.7 amps, while the Standard Pump pulls 2.1 amps, making the Premier Pump more energy efficient.
