Digital Extensometer/Compressometer, Dial Indicator, 6x12in

Compressometer/Extensometer, Digital Tape Extensometer, Digital Dial Indicator, 6x12in

Compressometer/Extensometers are similar to the Compressometer in that they measure average deformation and strain of concrete cylinders during compression testing for determination of modulus of elasticity. A third center yoke attaches to the specimen to measure horizontal extension. This allows a combined determination of the modulus of elasticity and Poisson’s ratio. A second mechanical dial or digital indicator between yoke segments measures the transverse deformation simultaneously. Mechanical dial indicators measure specimen deformation. Models for 4in (102mm) or 6in (152mm) concrete cylinders are available. Yokes are made of lightweight aluminum, the other parts are cadmium-plated steel.

Features:

  • Third yoke measures horizontal extension

  • Dual mechanical dial indicators or digital indicators

  • Meets ASTM C469/469M requirements

  • Models for 4in (102mm) or 6in (152mm) concrete cylinders

Meets Standards:

ASTM C469/469M

Compressometer and extensometer are two important instruments used in concrete cylinder compressive strength tests. These are used to measure the mechanical properties of concrete specimens so engineers and researchers can evaluate the quality and durability of concrete structures.

A compressometer is a precision instrument used to measure the axial deformation or strain of a concrete cylinder during a compressive strength test. It consists of two hardened steel plates with attached dial gauges. The compressometer is placed on the concrete specimen and as the load is applied, the movement of the plates is measured, giving valuable data on the strain of the concrete.

On the other hand, an extensometer measures the deformation or strain of the concrete specimen perpendicular to the applied load. It consists of two arms with linear variable differential transformers (LVDTs) attached to the concrete surface. As the load is applied, the extensometer measures the change in length or extension of the specimen accurately.

By using compressometers and extensometers during concrete cylinder compressive strength tests, engineers can get a complete picture of the behavior of concrete under load. These instruments help in determining the stress-strain relationship of the material, elastic modulus, Poisson’s ratio and other mechanical properties.

The data from compressometers and extensometers can be used to evaluate concrete mix designs, monitor concrete structures over time and guide new construction projects. It helps engineers make informed decisions on material selection, reinforcement design and structural safety.

Compressometers and extensometers are important tools in concrete cylinder compressive strength tests, measuring strain and deformation precisely. They contribute to the development of concrete technology and concrete structures durability.

Compressometer/Extensometer, Digital Dial Indicator is a versatile and important tool to measure mechanical properties of concrete cylinders. Meets ASTM C469/469M requirements, engineers and researchers can evaluate the quality and durability of concrete structures.

Has third yoke to measure horizontal extension, this Compressometer/Extensometer gives a complete picture of concrete behavior under load. Also has dual mechanical dial indicators or digital indicators to measure transverse deformation simultaneously. So users can determine the modulus of elasticity and Poisson’s ratio.

Available in 4in (102mm) or 6in (152mm) concrete cylinders, this Compressometer/Extensometer is universal. The yokes are made of lightweight aluminum for durability and ease of use. The other parts are made of cadmium-plated steel for long life.

This Compressometer/Extensometer meets industry standards and is used in concrete compression testing. It’s an important tool to measure axial deformation or strain of concrete specimens. The precision instrument consists of two hardened steel plates with attached dial gauges, giving valuable data on the strain of the concrete.

Similarly the extensometer measures the deformation or strain of the concrete specimen perpendicular to the applied load. With linear variable differential transformers (LVDTs) it measures the change in length or extension of the specimen.

Using the Compressometer/Extensometer engineers can get a complete picture of the behavior of concrete under load. It helps in determining the stress-strain relationship of the material, elastic modulus, Poisson’s ratio and other mechanical properties.

This Compressometer/Extensometer is an important tool for concrete cylinder compressive strength tests. Its strain and deformation measurements contribute to the development of concrete technology and concrete structures durability. With its universality and accuracy this Compressometer/Extensometer is a must have for engineers, researchers and construction professionals.

Digital tape extensometer is a portable precision instrument to measure relative distance between two reference points on structures. This versatile tool is used for monitoring movements and displacements in various applications, excavations, underground openings and structural monitoring. With stainless steel measuring tape, digital tape extensometer is durable and corrosion resistant, perfect for harsh environments.

As an extensometer, this device measures strain or deformation. Its applications are wide ranging from tunnel linings and shafts to caverns and other structural elements. Digital tape extensometer gives accurate and reliable measurements, it’s an essential tool for engineers and researchers in structural monitoring and analysis.
