The Geotester pocket dial penetrometer is designed for on-site soil strength measurement, providing quick and accurate estimates of unconfined compressive strength in tsf or kg/cm². Equipped with a standard 1/4in diameter penetration plunger, it delivers reliable results across a variety of cohesive soil types. The set also includes four additional plungers (10, 15, 20, and 25mm diameters) for broader testing applications.

To use, the piston is pressed into the soil up to the calibration notch, and the maximum force is displayed on the dial until reset with a push button. The inner dial measures 0–6.0 tsf or kg/cm² in 0.1 divisions, while the outer scale measures total force from 0–11kg in 0.1kg increments. Use the included charts to interpret readings and estimate soil strength.

This durable penetrometer features non-corrosive stainless steel components and a user-calibrated 2.5in (63mm) dial for precise measurements. Calibration is done using the included register plates and a reliable 10–15lb capacity scale. The compact 2.5 x 4.5in (63 x 114mm, Dia.xH) penetrometer comes in a hard plastic carrying case, along with plungers, calibration plates, instructions, and data tables.
