For making roller-compacted concrete in cylinder molds with a vibrating table when rodding and internal vibration is not practical. This is for making cylindrical test specimens. This is for making cylindrical test specimens for accurate results.

The unit consists of a vibrating table which can be bolted to the floor or a substantial base slab. For nominal maximum size aggregate, the fraction passing through a specific sieve size is important. If the nominal maximum size aggregate is greater than 50 mm, larger, nominal maximum size aggregate must be excluded for testing.

This is for cement treated aggregate and mixtures similar to roller-compacted concrete. Soil cement and roller compacted concrete can also be tested with these methods.

The standard practice for roller compacted concrete may include a swing arm with guide sleeve for the 20 lb (9kg) surcharge weight attached to the base, so the weight can swing out of the way when filling the mold but can swing back into place to apply the weight to the top of the specimen in the mold before vibration. The test mold is a 6” x 12” mold conforming to ASTM C470 and is locked into place on the base of the unit.
