8in Sieve, Brass/Stainless, Full Height, 1 1/2in
U.S. Sieves are available in brass or stainless steel with wire mesh screens made from the same materials. These sieves are designed to meet ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards. Most sieves come in an 8" diameter with a 2" full-height frame (or 1" half-height), but they are also available in 3" and 12" diameters. You can choose from the following combinations: brass frame with brass wire cloth, brass frame with stainless wire cloth, or stainless frame with stainless cloth. Frames are skirted for easy nesting. For half-height, 3", or 12" diameter sieves, please contact us for assistance.
How to Interpret Part Numbers:
Each part number provides information about the sieve’s specifications:
- Mesh Size: The first number corresponds to the ASTM mesh size.
- Frame and Mesh Material: The next two letters indicate the frame and mesh material:
- B for Brass
- S for Stainless Steel
- Example: BB = Brass frame and brass mesh; SS = Stainless frame and stainless mesh.
- Diameter: The number after the material code specifies the diameter (e.g., 8 for 8").
- Height: The last letter indicates the sieve height:
- F for Full height
- H for Half height
Height Details by Diameter:
- 8" sieves: Full height = 2", Half height = 1"
- 12" sieves: Full height = 4 ¼", Half height = 2"
Examples:
- 40BB8F: 40 mesh, brass frame and brass cloth, 8" diameter, full height of 2".
- 50SS12F: 50 mesh, stainless frame and stainless mesh, 12" diameter, full height of 4 ¼".
Some sieves are listed with inch measurements instead of U.S. Sieve series mesh sizes. A "0" in the first position indicates a frame and skirt only, allowing customers to add their own screen material.
The sizes below are listed in alphanumeric order. Start by identifying the mesh size you need, then select the material and configuration that suits your application.
We hope this guide helps you choose the right sieve for your needs!
