ASTM/AASHTO Permeameter, 9.0in Diameter
ASTM/AASHTO Constant Head Permeameters are designed for testing the laminar flow of water through granular soils using the constant head method to determine the coefficient of permeability. Available in sizes ranging from 2.5–9.0in (63.5–228.6mm) diameter, these permeameters are suitable for testing granular soils with a broad range of particle sizes. The clear acrylic sample chamber ensures easy observation during testing.
Each permeameter features two sidewall manometer ports covered with No.100 (150µm) stainless steel mesh to prevent soil material from entering the manometer. A compression spring applies 5–10lbs (2.3–4.5kg) of force on the top porous stone or perforated plate to maintain soil density throughout the test. The permeameters include tubing, anodized aluminum end caps with valves and ports for vacuum or water sources, and porous plates or stones depending on the model. Larger models (6.0in and 9.0in) come with porous plates for both top and bottom of specimens, while smaller sizes use porous stones.
A manometer, sold separately, is required for ASTM/AASHTO compliance. Choose between the Free-Standing Manometer or the Wall-Mounted Manometer.
