Effortlessly Collect Sludge Samples with Our Lightweight Sampling Kit

Designed for convenience and efficiency, this innovative sampling kit is perfect for collecting sludge samples from the bottom of petroleum tanks. Modeled after the popular Multi-Stage Sludge & Sediment Sampling Kit, this version features components made from lightweight aluminum—ideal for handling the height of tanks that can exceed 50 feet. The rigid and lightweight extension strands make it easy to push and twist the sampler deep into the sludge.

The kit includes two specialized core tips:

• Valved Sludge Core Tip: Equipped with a built-in one-way valve that opens as the sampler is pressed into the sludge, allowing material to fill the sampler. When lifted, the valve closes to trap sediment and liquid securely inside.
• Sludge Core Tip: Uses a disposable Plastic Core Catcher attached to a 2" Plastic Liner. The core catcher’s teeth open as the sampler enters the sludge, capturing material, and close when lifted to prevent sample loss.

A unique top cap enhances the kit's performance. During deployment, the Check Valve Flap releases excess air and water through oversized vent holes, preventing pressure buildup. Upon lifting, the flap closes, creating suction to retain the sample securely.

The kit includes four 12” sampler body sections, allowing for assembly of a 4’ sampler. Additional 12” extensions can be purchased for greater depths. Three 4’ Aluminum Square Extensions are included and can also be expanded to reach deeper levels.
