42 Inch Insulated Metal Soil Probe
Designed for sand, loose, or wet soil, the Mighty Probe Lite is a light duty insulated soil probe. The Mighty Probe Lite retains the same electrical protection of the Mighty Probe(tm) while featuring a thin lightweight stainless-steel shaft which won’t rust, and resists bends. For heavy duty use, purchase a Mighty Probe. The Mighty Probe Lite is to be used for secondary protection and is not intended to replace the user’s personal protective equipment. Note that this tool is meant for secondary protection against electrical shocks and is not a substitute for personal protective equipment.
The Mighty Probe Lite provides increased protection against electrical shock for the user, resulting from incidental contact with energized lines. As with all quality tools, it should be used correctly and under proper conditions.
The Mighty Probe Lite has been tested to 50,000 volts by an independent testing laboratory following ASTM F711-89 testing procedures. Additionally, it has been tested by the commercial laboratory services of a major utility company. (Both dry and 48hr. water soak to 45,000 volts.)
IMPORTANT: The following lengths include a 6” high-strength isolator. Therefore the 48” Mighty Probe Lite allows you to probe 42” deep (48” overall - 6” isolator = 42” rod).
The 42in Mighty Probe Lite Insulated Soil Probe is an essential tool for anyone working with soil in variable conditions. Specifically designed for sandy, loose, or wet soils, this light-duty insulated soil probe combines functionality with safety. Crafted from lightweight stainless steel, the probe boasts a robust build that resists rust and bending, ensuring it can handle various environmental challenges without compromising performance.
Safety is paramount, and the Mighty Probe Lite delivers on this front by providing enhanced protection against electrical shock, particularly due to incidental contact with energized lines. The probe has undergone rigorous testing, achieving a remarkable rating of 50,000 volts from an independent laboratory, following ASTM F711-89 protocols. Additionally, it has been tested in various conditions by a major utility company, confirming its reliability even after being soaked for 48 hours.
This innovative soil probe includes a 6-inch high-strength isolator, meaning the probe can effectively reach depths of up to 42 inches, making it perfect for assessing soil conditions without the risk of electrical hazards. While the Mighty Probe Lite is versatile and efficient, it’s important to recognize that it serves as secondary electrical protection and should not replace the user’s personal protective equipment.
For those engaged in soil testing, landscaping, or agricultural assessments, the 42in Mighty Probe Lite Insulated Soil Probe is the ideal choice. Combining lightweight design with superior insulation, this tool makes navigating the complexities of soil conditions easier and safer. Prioritize safety without sacrificing performance with this indispensable soil probe.
Introduction
The probe rod is an essential tool for various industries, including environmental science, agriculture, and construction. It is used to collect soil samples, locate underground pipes and septic tanks, and detect electrical shock. A high-quality probe rod should be able to resist bending and provide easy penetration, even in frozen ground or clay. In this article, we will discuss the features and applications of probe rods, including the smart stick and t-handle designs.
Product Features
A good probe rod should have several key features, including a sturdy steel construction, a comfortable grip, and a durable design that can withstand repeated use. The t-handle design provides stability and control, making it easier to dig and maneuver the probe. The hex rod adds strength and stability to the probe, ensuring accurate and reliable results. Additionally, a probe rod with a 42-inch length and stainless steel construction is ideal for many applications, including gardening, landscaping, and construction. The smart stick design is also a popular choice, offering easy penetration and withdrawal, as well as a comfortable grip and durable construction.
Product Variations and Applications
Probe rods come in various lengths and diameters, making them suitable for different applications and industries. For example, a 42-inch soil probe rod with a 3/8” diameter is ideal for locating septic tanks and underground pipes, while a longer or shorter probe may be more suitable for other tasks. The soil probe rod is also used in environmental science to collect soil samples and detect contaminants. In agriculture, it is used to monitor soil moisture and fertility levels. Furthermore, the probe rod is a valuable tool for construction, allowing workers to detect underground pipes and cables, and avoid accidents. The probe is also used in gardening and landscaping to detect hidden obstacles and plan garden layouts.
Related Tools and Equipment
In addition to the soil probe rod, there are several other tools and equipment that are commonly used in conjunction with it. These include digging tools, such as shovels and trowels, as well as safety equipment, such as gloves and safety glasses. A hook or other retrieval tool may also be necessary to retrieve the probe if it becomes stuck in the ground. Additionally, a rugged and durable carry case or storage container can help protect the probe and other equipment when not in use. Other related tools and equipment include soil testing kits, underground pipe detectors, and electrical shock detectors. These tools can help users make informed decisions about soil quality, underground infrastructure, and safety protocols.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the soil probe rod is a versatile and essential tool for various industries, including environmental science, agriculture, and construction. With its sturdy steel construction, comfortable grip, and durable design, it provides easy penetration and withdrawal, even in frozen ground or clay. The smart stick and t-handle designs offer additional features and benefits, making them ideal choices for many applications. By understanding the features, applications, and related tools and equipment, users can make informed decisions about which soil probe rod to use and how to use it effectively, providing confidence and protection when working with soil and underground infrastructure. Whether you are a professional or a homeowner, a high-quality soil probe rod is a valuable investment that can help you get the job done safely and efficiently.
