4in Unbonded Capping Neoprene Pad Cap, 70 Durometer (12 Pack)
4in Neoprene Compression Pads for Concrete Cylinder Testing
4in (101.6mm) Neoprene Compression Pads are designed for accurate and efficient compressive strength testing of 4x8in concrete cylinders. These pads comply with ASTM C1231/1231M and AASHTO T 22 standards, ensuring reliable results. Each pad is sold individually, and two pads are required for proper compression testing.
Features & Benefits:
- Durable and Flexible Material: The 0.5in (12.7mm) thick pads are made of high-quality neoprene, which flows during compression to fill surface irregularities in the cylinder ends. This ensures uniform load distribution for accurate results.
- Multiple Hardness Options: Available in 50, 60, 70, and 90 durometer hardness levels to suit a wide range of concrete compressive strengths.
- Reusable: Pads can be reused for up to 100 tests, making them a cost-effective solution for repeated testing applications.
- Strength Range:
- 50 durometer: For concrete design strengths from 1,500 to 6,000 psi (10-40 MPa)
- 60 durometer: For concrete design strengths from 2,500 to 7,000 psi (17-50 MPa)
- 70 durometer: For concrete design strengths from 4,000 to 12,000 psi (28-80 MPa)
- 90 durometer: Designed for testing high-strength concrete beyond typical ranges
Use with Steel Retainer Sets
The neoprene pads require the 4in Steel Retainer Set, sold separately, to hold the pads securely at each end of the concrete cylinder during concrete testing. This ensures proper containment and alignment of the pads.
70 Durometer Pads
The 70 durometer neoprene pads are particularly suited for testing concrete with strengths between 4,000 to 7,000 psi (28-50 MPa). With additional user qualification, these pads can also be used for higher-strength concrete in the range of 7,000 to 12,000 psi (50-80 MPa).
Compliance with Testing Standards
Neoprene pads meet the following industry standards:
- ASTM C1231/1231M: Standard practice for use of unbonded caps in determination of compressive strength.
- AASHTO T 22: Compressive strength of cylindrical concrete specimens.
Why Choose Neoprene Pads?
Neoprene pads are an ideal alternative to sulfur capping or grinding cylinder ends, offering a cleaner, faster, and more efficient testing process. Their flexibility and precision help reduce variability in test results, making them a preferred choice for labs and construction sites.
Ordering Information
- Pads are sold individually or in packages of 12 for bulk purchases.
