250mL Hardened Stainless Steel Grinding Bowl for Fritsch Premium Planetary Mills
Achieve precise and efficient sample preparation with our 250mL Hardened Stainless Steel Grinding Bowl, specifically engineered for use with Fritsch Premium Planetary Mills. This robust grinding bowl is an essential component for laboratories requiring reliable and consistent comminution of a wide range of materials.
Key Features of the 250mL Hardened Stainless Steel Bowl:
- Optimal for Tough Samples: Designed to handle hard, medium-hard, and brittle materials, including minerals, ceramics, alloys, and some plastics. Its exceptional hardness minimizes wear and contamination during aggressive grinding cycles.
- Durability and Longevity: Constructed from high-grade hardened stainless steel, this bowl offers superior resistance to abrasion and impact, ensuring a long operational lifespan even under demanding conditions.
- Integrated Components: Each grinding bowl comes complete with a perfectly matched lid and a high-quality seal ring. These components work together to ensure a sealed grinding environment, preventing sample loss, contamination, and maintaining an inert atmosphere if required.
Understanding Grinding Bowl Material Selection: The effectiveness and integrity of your grinding process heavily depend on selecting the correct bowl material. A fundamental rule is that the grinding bowl material must always be harder than the material being ground to prevent contamination and ensure efficient size reduction. Our range includes various materials to suit diverse applications:
- Agate: Ideal for soft to medium-hard, abrasive-sensitive samples where metal contamination must be avoided.
- Zirconium Oxide: Excellent for fibrous, abrasive, and medium-hard samples, offering high wear resistance and low contamination.
- Hardened Stainless Steel (This product): A versatile choice for hard, medium-hard, and brittle samples, offering a balance of strength, wear resistance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Hardmetal Tungsten Carbide: The choice for extremely hard and highly abrasive samples, providing unparalleled grinding efficiency and minimal wear.
Operating with the Fritsch FT-50 Premium Planetary Mill: For optimal performance and to maintain the longevity of your FT-50 Premium Planetary Mill, two grinding bowls are required for each operation. It is crucial to operate the mill with balanced loads. We recommend using identical bowls and filling them with samples of equal total mass. If one grinding station contains less sample, a counterweight (such as fine sand or another inert material) of equal total mass should be placed in an identical jar at the opposing grinding station. Please note that grinding balls are sold separately and must be chosen according to your specific application and desired fineness.
Capacity: The 250mL grinding bowl has an effective working capacity range of 30–125mL of sample material, allowing for a good balance between sample volume and grinding efficiency.
