The AMS 58062, 1-1/4 x 14 Stainless Steel Piezometer is the ultimate groundwater sampling kit. Designed to provide a semi-permanent sampling point for water level measurements and shallow groundwater sampling investigations, this kit has everything you need to delve into the depths of groundwater analysis.
For tough soil conditions, the kit includes a 1 ¼" regular soil auger, 6ft of extensions, and a rubber-coated cross handle to pre-auger a borehole. The 1 ¼" outside diameter (OD) x 14" long Stainless Steel piezometer drive point can be easily connected to any of the 3ft Stainless Steel Piezometer extensions using heavy-duty single-lead threaded couplers. This ensures that the entire drive string has the same OD, allowing for smooth pushing and pulling.
What sets the AMS Piezometer apart from others in the market is its unique design that allows for easy removal and replacement of the internal 50 mesh SST Screen & Spring for proper decontamination in between samplings. This valuable feature ensures accurate and uncontaminated samples every time.
The kit also includes the patented AMS SST Dedicated Tip with SST screen, which serves as both a drop weight and sampling port. Connected to the 3/16" ID x ¼" OD fluoropolymer or poly tubing, this tip can be lowered inside the piezometer for sample collection. Compatible with peristaltic pumps, bladder pumps, AMS stainless steel bailers, and inertia samplers, it offers versatility in sampling methods.
The inside diameter of the piezometer is 7/8", providing ample space for an AMS 5/8" Water Level Meter for pre-sampling water level measurements. To drive the sampler and extensions into the subsurface, the kit includes an AMS 20lb Slide Hammer Attachment and threadless drive adapter. The removal of extensions and piezometer is made easy with the AMS Big Foot removal jack and T-Jack Adapter.
Cleaning brushes and wrenches are also included for maintenance and assembly purposes. All components of the kit fit securely inside two foam-lined, poly-reinforced deluxe carrying cases with handles and wheels, ensuring easy portability.
For groundwater sampling activities in contaminated lithology, it is recommended to use the expendable tip holder, #50 mesh SST screen, and expendable drive tip. In stiff or dense lithology, the use of the expendable drive tip, #50 mesh SST screen, and expendable drive tip is advised to avoid damaging the standard piezometer.
