The Zeitfuchs Cross-Arm Viscometer (Size 10) is a specialized laboratory instrument designed for accurately measuring the kinematic viscosity of transparent and opaque liquids. It is particularly effective for testing bituminous materials like road oils and asphalt cements, adhering to industry standards for temperature-specific measurements—typically 140°F (60°C) for road oils and 275°F (135°C) for asphalt cements. This specific model, Size 10, is engineered for highly viscous materials, covering a viscosity range of 20,000 to 100,000 centistokes (cSt) with an approximate constant of 100 cSt/s.

One of the key advantages of the Zeitfuchs® Cross-Arm design is its operational efficiency. It requires only a small sample volume of 1 to 3mL and can be conveniently filled and cleaned while remaining immersed in a constant temperature bath. This minimizes sample handling and reduces thermal equilibrium time, improving overall testing speed and consistency. The viscometer's construction ensures reliable performance with a measurement precision of ±0.2% within its stated viscosity range.

For proper operation, the viscometer must be submerged to a minimum depth of 9in (230mm) in a Constant Temperature Viscosity Bath. Each unit is electronically calibrated and supplied with a Certificate of Calibration, guaranteeing traceability and accuracy right out of the box. Please note that a holder is required for secure placement in the bath and must be purchased separately.
