The NCAT Blower Motor for 1087/1275 Series Furnaces is a reliable and efficient solution for maintaining the performance of your NCAT exhaust blower. Designed to provide accurate binder percentages and clean aggregate for gradation analysis, this blower motor requires minimal maintenance to keep it in optimal condition.

The key maintenance task for the NCAT blower motor is lubrication. By occasionally lubricating the blower, you can ensure its smooth operation and prevent any squealing noises that may indicate the need for lubrication. Additionally, for early models such as the 859 and 945, it is necessary to vacuum the dust out of the plenum chamber during this maintenance routine.

To lubricate the blower motor, start by disconnecting the power from the unit and ensuring that it is switched off. Remove the exhaust pipe from the top of the NCAT and then take off the metal "box" on top of the unit. This will expose the stainless steel plenum chamber with the blower assembly mounted on the back.

Using ANDEROL® 465 Synthetic Lubricating Oil, apply 5 or 6 drops into each of the two holes on the top of the blower. It is important to note that other oils, such as 3-in-1, should not be used as they cannot withstand the heat and may cause issues. If you have misplaced the bottle of lubricating oil that came with your NCAT, you can order it separately as NC-1175.

In addition to lubrication, it may be necessary to clean the fins in the blower squirrel cage, especially if you use polymer AC extensively or have poor venting. Build-up on the fins can significantly decrease the lift performance, so it is essential to address this if needed.

Once the maintenance steps are completed, reassemble the unit, restore power, and press the START button to run the blower for a few minutes. This will allow the Anderol 465 lubricant to spread around the bearing faces, ensuring smooth operation.

Neglecting the maintenance of the NCAT Blower Motor can result in issues when starting the furnace, as the Anderol 465 lubricant can mimic the properties of Loc-Tite adhesive. By following these simple maintenance steps and keeping your blower motor well-lubricated, you can continue to rely on your NCAT for accurate readings and efficient operation.
