The M.C. Miller Sponge Bottle Electrode - Copper Sulfate Version offers an ability to efficiently wet local areas on horizontal concrete surfaces just prior to taking rebar potential readings, which significantly improves electrical contact of the electrode to the concrete, thus improving reading accuracy.
The reference electrode itself is a modified RE-7 electrode, which is supplied with a charge of high purity copper sulfate crystals for saturated copper sulfate solution preparation.
Steel reinforced concrete structures, such as parking garages, bridge decks and driveways can be conveniently tested using the Sponge Bottle Electrode.
