50mm Fixed Ring Consolidometer

The 50mm Fixed Ring Consolidometer is for specimens 50 x 19mm (1.97 x 0.75in) Dia. x H, and is equipped with an attached acrylic inundation ring, loading pad, and collar with lifting knobs. Other components include a cutting sample ring, 1.95in diameter top and 3.31in diameter bottom porous stones, and loading ball. Included components are also available as replacement products.

Consolidometers measure soil specimens for strength and for estimation of potential settlement of pavements and structures. These fixtures contain the soil specimens in rings and are generally placed in Consolidation Load Frames for loading.  Consolidometers either have fixed rings, meaning the specimen ring is fixed to the base, or floating rings, where the ring is supported by the friction of the specimen. Fixed and Floating Ring Consolidometers are available in a range of sizes in both in and mm diameters. Consolidometers are designed to fit Consolidation Load Frames, as well as most other manufacturers' units. When using Fixed Ring Consolidometers, applied forces load the specimen from the top as the base of the ring is fixed in place.
