Grout Paper, Package of 1000
Grout paper sheets are used in the construction and testing of concrete masonry units to create compressive strength specimens. They are designed to exact dimensions and scored in three places and fold into a 3″ x 3″ x 7.5″ prism. By using grout paper sheets you can create test samples that meet the same dimensions as ASTM C1019 for compressive strength testing.
One of the benefits of grout paper molds is they form a rigid, cavity lined environment within a cavity created by arranging bricks or CMU blocks. This setup makes creating compressive strength specimens much easier and prevents irregular shaped specimens that can occur with thinner materials or less controlled methods. The permeable grout papers are designed to prevent bond between the paper and grout so you can have proper consolidation and moisture control during testing grout procedures.
Using grout paper sheets instead of corrugated cardboard boxes is a common practice in the industry. The thin, permeable material of grout papers allows for good moisture management and reduces the chance of compromised test results. Each box has a large quantity of sheets so contractors and lab technicians can handle multiple testing needs with ease.
Whether you need to create compressive strength specimens, comparison samples or just a material to test grout, grout paper sheets are a practical and cost effective solution. For more information on grout paper molds, applications or to order visit our site or contact us.
Meets: ASTM C1019
The grout paper is 7 1/2″ x 12″ and has scores—specific fold lines on each page of grout paper—to fold into a 3″ x 3″ x 7.5″ prism. Each sheet is 70 lb stock, very durable and rigid for compressive strength testing. The grout paper is grout gray, a professional lab color that matches other lab supplies and is a neutral color. As part of our Construction line of testing materials, this grout paper is available in various sizes, weights and colors. You can select size, weight or color when ordering and add pre-printed labels or addresses if needed—optional and can be added upon request. The grout paper molds are placed into a cavity created by properly arranging concrete masonry units (CMU) and/or bricks to the same dimensions. The grout is then placed and consolidated into the cavity lined by the Humboldt grout paper.
This method is more economical than the corrugated cardboard boxes commonly used and meets the guidelines of ASTM C-1019: for a thin, permeable material to prevent bond. The permeable grout papers are rigid enough to prevent casting irregular shaped specimens which thinner materials can produce. Using our grout papers to create compressive strength specimens according to ASTM C1019 will eliminate the need to make comparison samples if you plan to use alternative methods of creating test samples as noted in the standard. Even if you are making 4 specimens like the corrugated cardboard boxes, Humboldt Grout paper is less expensive per specimen.
