Direct/Residual Shear Data Acquisition Software
Direct Shear Data Acquisition Software records direct/residual shear and consolidation data, and reports result in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO standards. The software is compatible with Gilson pneumatic or dead-weight shear machines, as well as models by other manufacturers.
Direct Shear Data Acquisition Software records data automatically during consolidation and shear phases of direct and residual shear testing. Data entry fields and testing prompts are clear and intuitive to reduce user error and increase repeatability.
Direct / Residual Shear software runs on Windows XP or newer operating systems and can also be used on PC tablets and laptops with touchscreen control. Popup keyboards can be enabled for touchscreen computers or disabled when a PC with mouse and keyboard is used. Testing agency information, company logo, and equipment information can be entered and included in the testing reports.
Calculations are performed in real-time throughout the test procedure and saved automatically at test completion in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO specifications. In addition, a friction angle tool allows quick determinations of both the friction angle (ϕ) and cohesion intercept (c). Testing agency information, sample data, final test results, and corresponding graph are included in the final test report. Testing information and report data can also be exported to a spreadsheet application or converted into a PDF document.
Direct / Residual Shear Data Acquisition Software is optimized for use with the 2001-D and 2050-D Direct Shear Machines, which include the required 6574 four-channel Data Readout, two 6152 Displacement Transducers and 6142 Load Cell. These components can also be purchased separately to outfit other direct shear machines. Customization using third-party load and displacement components is possible.
