ASTM #77F Saybolt Viscosity Thermometer, 245 to 265F, NIST Calibration
The ASTM #77F Viscosity Thermometer, 245 to 265F has a strict manufacturing tolerance. Accuracy is assured by inspection and testing of samples from each production run. The thermometer is supplied with a statement of compliance to E 1 and E 77 requirements. The ASTM Thermometer is yellow-backed glass with permanent graduations, mercury-filled and individually packed in a cardboard tube.
Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.
ASTM Number: 77F
Length: 10.8 (275), in (mm)
Immersion: Total
Range: 245 to 265F

The ASTM #77F Saybolt Viscosity Thermometer is a specialized instrument designed for accurate viscosity measurement in the range of 245 to 265F. This thermometer is manufactured with strict tolerances to ensure precise results, and each production run undergoes comprehensive inspection and testing to ensure accuracy.
The ASTM #77F Viscosity Thermometer is made of yellow-backed glass with permanent graduations, providing a clear and easy-to-read scale. It is mercury-filled and individually packed in a sturdy cardboard tube for secure and safe transportation and storage.
To further guarantee accuracy, the ASTM #77F Viscosity Thermometer comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. This certificate is issued by an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory and confirms that the calibration of the thermometer has been performed in a qualified and controlled environment. The calibration process involves a five-point calibration using a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and a Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) in a high-stability liquid bath.
Before testing, each thermometer is inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations to ensure its integrity. The measurements are then performed at five temperature points, providing reliable and consistent readings.
The ASTM #77F Viscosity Thermometer has a length of 10.8 inches (275mm) and is designed for total immersion. It has a division of 0.5F, allowing for precise temperature measurement within the specified range.
To ensure the longevity of the thermometer and prevent fluid column separation, it is recommended to store non-mercury thermometers vertically using a storage rack. Additionally, for temperature measurement in ovens or other exposed environments, the thermometer can be used with a Thermometer Well, which provides protection and thermal stabilization.
