The Neoprene Compression Pad flows into irregularities and distributes the test load uniformly without creating air pockets to assure consistent breaks. Patented “stay in place” nubs, secure pads into cups.
Compression pads are available in several hardnesses.
50 duro for design strength 1500 to 6000 psi.
60 duro for design strength 2500 to 7000 psi.
70 duro for design strength 4000 to 12,000 psi*.
*Qualifying tests must be performed for strength over 7,000 psi per ASTM.
Refer to ASTM C1231 for max uses, qualification test, etc. Our sales personnel are always available to assist.
6in (152.4mm) Neoprene Pads come in 50, 60, or 70 durometer. They are used when testing compressive strength of 6x12in concrete cylinders and meet ASTM C1231/1231M and AASHTO T 22 standards. The pads are 0.5in (12.7mm) thick and flow during compression to fill irregularities in cylinder ends and ensure uniform load distribution. The 6in Steel Retainer Set are sold separately and required to hold the pads at both ends of the cylinder. Two pads are required. Pads can be used up to 100 times.

The Deslauriers 6in Unbonded Capping Neoprene Pad Cap is an essential tool for testing the compressive strength of 6x12in concrete cylinders. These neoprene pads are designed to flow into irregularities and distribute the test load uniformly, ensuring consistent breaks without any air pockets. The patented "stay in place" nubs secure the pads into cups, providing stability during testing.
Available in three different hardnesses (50, 60, and 70 duro), these neoprene pads offer a wide range of design strengths for different testing requirements. The 50 duro pad is suitable for design strengths ranging from 1500 to 6000 psi, while the 60 duro pad is ideal for strengths between 2500 and 7000 psi. For higher design strengths, the 70 duro pad is recommended, with a range of 4000 to 12,000 psi. Note that qualifying tests must be performed for strengths over 7000 psi, as per ASTM standards.
The Deslauriers 6in Unbonded Capping Neoprene Pad Cap complies with ASTM C1231/1231M and AASHTO T 22 standards, ensuring accuracy and reliability in testing procedures. These pads are 0.5in thick and can flow during compression to fill irregularities in the cylinder ends, guaranteeing uniform load distribution.
To hold the pads securely at both ends of the cylinder, the 6in Steel Retainer Set is sold separately and is required for proper usage. Each set contains two pads, and they can be used up to 100 times, making them a cost-effective and durable solution.
